County formation dates:

Gasconade - Jan 1, 1821 - from Franklin (territorial)
Osage - Jan 29, 1841 - from Gasconade
Maries - Mar 2, 1855 - from parts of Osage and Pulaski On Nov 13, 1857 the lower part of Maries was removed and added to the new Phelps county and southeast corner of Maries was added from Crawford county.
